Welcome to the 2014 Our Lady of Sorrows Carnival honoring St. Francis of Assisi!

The Carnival will be held October 3, 4, and 5.

The Carnival is one of the largest fundraising events for our parish. The parish relies on the money raised to help maintain their facilities and fund youth programs. There are many creative ways that you can participate and we hope that you will contribute in any or all of the following ways:

Volunteer your time and talents: We can use your help in setting up before the event, helping in a game, crafts, candy or face painting booth, breaking down the booths after the event, etc. We encourage you to provide flyers at establishments you, your friends and family members frequent so that they can spread the word about the carnival. We would be grateful for any time you can give.

Contribute items: Perhaps you can donate to the flea market items such as new or gently used children's toys, household items, decorative pieces, music, costume jewelry and household appliances in working condition. Sorry, for reasons of public health, we never accept donations of clothing, bedding or shoes. Other items to donate would be bags of rice, beans or cooking oil to name a few (see the bulletin for donations). Buying raffle tickets is one very important way that you can help defray the costs of the Carnival so that as much money as possible goes directly to help the parish.

Come to the party and enjoy: We encourage you to invite your colleagues, friends, and family members to join us for the weekend. Its more fun when you bring a crowd and it's a great way to learn about the parish. We will be offering a limited number of discounted ride tickets when the weekend draws nearer, so be on the look out.

We are excited about this year's carnival and we look forward to a terrific weekend with food, games, shows, family and friends. We would be thrilled for you to help us make the 2014 Our Lady of Sorrows Carnival our best yet. Don't forget to sign up after each mass to volunteer.

We are seeking volunteers for the Carnival and ask that anyone interested please sign up after every Mass on Saturdays and Sundays. You can decide to donate 2 or 3 hours of your time on either Friday, Oct. 3rd, Saturday, Oct. 4th and/or Sunday, Oct. 5th.
